I like to think of myself as an up to date Bookkeeper, or at least as up to date as I can be. I use up to date software, I keep myself up to date with all the latest developments that are useful for my clients and I keep my clients compliant with HMRC and I try not to charge them too much for my efforts.

What I am not is a Bookkeeper who asks her clients to scan every single receipt and invoice to an app on their phone and then upload it to their accounts software where they can do most of the work. They don't have the time and probably wouldn't want to do it anyway. That's my job. All I ask is for their receipts if they can dig them out of their offices, pockets and wallets for me on a regular basis together with all the other information I need to do their accounts and VAT returns accurately and on time.

I don't charge a fixed monthly fee - I charge for the time it takes me to do the work. This can vary from month to month depending on how busy my client is. I don't think I overcharge for what I do. I am quite surprised by what some Bookkeepers charge for what are simple tasks that don't take very long to do. Some Bookkeepers charge their clients for the software they use to do the work for them. Why? It's part of my "tool kit" to do the job and I expect to pay for it.

If you need someone to get on and do your accounts and leave you with the time to do what you do best and build your business, give me a call and let's talk over what I can do to help you to do that. I'm good at what I do, I get it done and I keep you you up to date with what you need to know to keep your business on track.

Take care.
